At this conference, the results of a three-year research project on the cooperation of service providers in criminal investigations, financed by the FNRS and the ULiège, will be presented and future solutions will be discussed. These discussions will, obviously, take into account the EU e-evidence proposal (on which the European Parliament would adopt a first draft in November), the 2nd Additional Protocol (which will be discussed just a few days earlier at the Council of Europe Octopus Conference) and will also consider the intersections with other policy areas (data retention, data protection, digital market regulation, encryption). This conference will gather academics from across Europe (and beyond) and various stakeholders (European institutions, law enforcement agencies, private sector, NGOs).
