The principle of non bis in idem in the jurisprudence of the European Court of Justice
The judicial review of the European criminal law is of major importance given the sensitivity of the matter. In this regard, the skills that the Court of Justice of the European Communities was awarded with the Amsterdam Treaty prove fundamental. Despite the restrictions that continue to taint the currently under the third pillar of the Treaty on European Union, the Court of Justice made a series of crucial saves for the sector.
