VACANCY - Senior Lecturer position in Brunel University London

The college of Business, Arts and Social Sciences are looking for a Senior Lecturer in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice to join the Brunel Law School.
This is a key role to consolidate the School’s strong research and teaching profile in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the running and teaching of the Colleges successful Law with Criminal Justice LLB, to contribute to other undergraduate or postgraduate teaching as required, and to undertake administrative duties within the School. In addition, the post holder will manage independent research projects or specific areas of research within a broad programme, and to develop high-quality research proposals for submission to external funding bodies.

The post holder will have experience in all aspects of teaching and examining, along with supervising research students, tutorials, practicals. Experience of planning research, preparing research proposals and negotiating contracts with little supervision is also essential.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in the relevant areas or equivalent, and have excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills, with the ability to communicate clearly in English, conveying ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing to a diverse audience. In addition, the successful candidate will have a strong research and publications record suitable for submission for the REF2021, and will be able to demonstrate coherent future research plans, with the potential for obtaining external funding. A strong teaching record and the ability to demonstrate coherent future teaching plans is also required for this role.

The successful applicant will also be expected to participate in at least one of the College research centres, Entrepreneurship and Sustainability and Global Lives, or a University Research Institute.
