PhD position at the VUB - Criminal Procedure in the Digital Era

A PhD position is OPEN at the VUB's Faculty of Law and Criminology, Fundamental Rights Research Centre (FRC).

The position is offered in the framework of a project co-funded by the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) and the Luxembourg National Research Fund (FNR).

The project is called PROMODE, and is centered on the analysis of digital investigatory measures, with a focus on the most innovative ones. In particular, the key research question of the project is: how can criminal procedural codes and data protection laws regulate digital investigatory measures in a coherent and comprehensive manner, while respecting human rights requirements?

The candidate will be funded for four years, full-time, and should enrol in a joint PhD programme under the co-supervision of prof. Paul De Hert (VUB) and prof. Katalin Ligeti (University of Luxembourg).
