This e-book focuses on the three proposals tabled by the Commission in November 2013 to implement the Council's Roadmap on procedural safeguards for suspects and accused, concerning legal aid, the presumption of innocence and the procedural safeguards for children suspected or accused in criminal proceedings respectively. The book discusses the likely impact these instruments will, once adopted, have in the Portuguese criminal procedure.
